are many approaches to research an essential part of every business and
profession and many ways to document findings. But we primarily focus on the
library books and most English composition textbooks. It is important to
follow consistently and accurately a recommended format that is clear and
concise and you have approved that.

term papers are used at every school level, mainly from the secondary to the

Choosing
A Subject
Students
usually make mistakes in choosing a subject; often they
choose one that is too general. (The most specific subject will always have
enough aspects to furnish a long paper, if you think about it for a while).
Your
paper should be an attempt to write a well-organized answer to whatever
question you decide upon, using facts for the purpose of proving (or at least
supporting) your contention.
Finding
Sources of Materials
We
collect the sources that are not more than 20 years old, unless the nature of
the paper is such that you are examining older writings from a historical
point of view.
Gathering
the Notes
We
skim through the sources; locating the useful material, then make good notes
of it, including quotes and information for footnotes. You do not want to have
to go back to these sources again.
We
also take care in note taking; and always be accurate and honest. We do not
want to collect only those things that will support your thesis, ignoring
other facts or opinions. The reader wants to know other sides of the question.
Outlining
The Paper
We
start this section by review notes to find main sub-divisions of your subject.
Then we sort the cards into natural groups then try to name each group. Then
these names are used for main divisions in paper’s outline.
Writing
The First Draft
Then
we start writing the paper around the outline, being sure that we indicate in
the first part of the paper what its purpose is. We follow the old formula:

the reader what you are going to say (statement of purpose)

it (main body of the paper)

Tell
the reader what you've said (statement of summary and conclusion)
Editing
The Paper
We
first edit the paper by reading the paper aloud, it is a good way to be sure
that the language is not awkward, and that it "flows" properly.
We
check for proper spelling, phrasing and sentence construction. Be sure that
pronouns clearly refer to nouns.
Check
for proper form on footnotes, quotes, and punctuation.
Check
for proper form on tables and graphs. Be certain that any table or graph is
self-explanatory.
